Surprise Gift From Mont Bleu

Hello Ladies!! Now a days I'm better being regular at my FB Page  ... so in case you want to know what is going on frequently :)

I received this surprise gift from Mont Bleu past holiday season. I know its a bit late to blog about it.. but I was in India that time, on a long vacation...... They sent a customized file with my birth sign on it.. isn't it cute? Also a crystal embedded tweezers and crystal earrings and the most amazing pen also with a crystal studded (it is such a feather light pen, always in my handbag)..




So thought will write about it now :) If you read my review on their glass nail file some time back, you'll know I absolutely love it! It makes a world of difference on your nails even if you have only a few mins to spare to file it!

Red Poha Kozhukattai

I first had this at a friend's home and wanted to try this for a long time. Finally I got the chance to make this during the weekend. Absolutely healthy, tasty and snack-y :)


No. of servings - 10-12
Ingredients:
Red Poha - 1/2 cup
Coconut - 1/2 spoon
Salt

To temper:
Mustard seeds
Urad dal
Red chilli

Procedure:

  • Soak the poha for 10 minutes separately. In a kadai heat oil splutter items to temper. 
  • Squeeze out the water from the soaked poha and add the poha to the kadai along with coconut and saute well 
  • Make kozhukattai balls out of the poha.

Simple Vegetable Biryani

Don't we all love those time saving one pot meals :) This is one of that kind. The process is inspired from Vah Re Vah Chef.


Number of servings - 3
Ingredients:
Mixed veggies - 1 cup (I used beans, carrots, bell peppers, green peas)
Onion - 1 chopped
Jalapeno - 1 chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 spoon
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Water - 1 and 1/2 cup
Yoghurt - 1/2 cup
Red Chilli powder - 1 spoon
Cilantro Powder (malli thool)- 2 spoons
Cumin Powder - 1 spoon
Garam Masala powder - 1tsp
Cilantro chopped
Salt
Oil

To temper:
Cinnamon
Cloves
Bay leaf
Cardamom

Procedure:

  1. Wash and soak the rice separately. Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan and splutter items to temper. Add ginger garlic paste and onions and saute well
  2. Add the veggies and saute. (do not over cook the veggies as they cook along with rice later) Add all the masala powders and saute
  3. Add yoghurt, cilantro  and saute well. Add salt and water and let it boil lightly. Then drain the soaked rice to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally. 
Yummy biryani is ready.. we had this with carrot raita. 

P.S. I'm down with cold, cough and what not... hate the weather!
