Cracked Wheat Pongal

This was a very random trial and worked out for real good! I liked it better than its rice rival :)

Number of Servings - 2
Cracked Wheat - 1/2 cup
Moong Dal  - 1/2 cup
Water - 3 and 1/2 cups
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp

To Splutter:
Pepper Corns/Powder
Cumin Seeds

  • Dry roast the moong dal till it gives an aroma (few mins)
  • Add the cracked wheat, moong dal, and all the ingredients listed, in the pressure cooker and cook it to 3 whistles 
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter the items to splutter and add it to the pongal
Enjoy it with piping hot sambar :)
